How to express TIME in English - HR Nirjhor Hasan
How to express time in English - Free English Lessons
There's no question that in our daily life we need to express time always. And this is very important for daily life activity . We've selected some of the ways to express time and shared them through this lesson:
In five minute increments, when it's past the hour (up to 30 minutes past) we say "Past".
When it's before the hour (after 30 minutes past) we say "To".
There are 60 minutes in an hour.
30 minutes is half an hour, we say "Half Past" or "Thirty" For instance = 7.30, 10.30 can be said "half past 7", "half past 10"
15 minutes is quarter of an hour, we say "quarter past" ( For an example = 7.15,8.15,9.15 etc could be said "quarter past 7","quarter past 8" and "quarter past 9" so on or or "quarter to" or "forty-five" ( For an example = 7.45, 8.45 etc could be said "quarter to 8", "quarter to 9".
